RECOUTURE, a Japanese repair shop known well for their resoled sneakers, made an official collaboration with adidas only a few years ago. And now, following a number of Campus 80 colorways, the two are teaming up once again, preparing to release a Adidas Forum Cheap Lo that’s heavier on the patchwork than its predecessor.
The Adidas Forum Women “Humanchives” reads as a love letter to both Jeremy Scott and Walter Van Beirendonck, two of Frost’s biggest fashion inspirations. As a meld of the two’s design language, the silhouette — with its OG-inspired white and blue colorway — is made to resemble a face, sporting a set of eyes, a nose, and a toothy grin along its toe.
Opposite, the Adidas Forum Sale “Benchmates” pays homage to a bygone era of shoes, one during which bright colors were all the rage. And to instill further nostalgia, the side has been overlaid with mascots not too unlike what you’d find on the side of a daycare or nursery.
Whether it be the futurist modification by Xbox or the macabre creation by Kerwin Frost, the Adidas Forum Men continues to sit at the center of the adidas Originals lifestyle movement as the go-to silhouette for casual wear. But if those aforementioned offerings are just a bit too out of the box for your liking, not to worry because the brand is pumping out refreshingly simple colorways on a regular basis. |
